About GetVRF

The advice we wished existed when we priced our first VRF job

Solar-VRF is one of the highest-leverage building upgrades of the decade — and one of the hardest to research. Manufacturer sites sell equipment. Installer sites sell installs. Incentive rules changed under everyone's feet in 2025. GetVRF exists to be the third thing: an independent place where the numbers are modeled honestly, the trade-offs are stated plainly, and the next step is a vetted human, not a call center.

We educate

Sourced, dated guides written for smart non-specialists — every figure traceable, every trade-off on the table, updated when the rules change.

We model

Our calculator shows its formulas, sources its constants, and defaults conservative. If a project doesn't pencil, the tool says so.

We connect

When you're ready, we introduce you to installers and solar EPCs we've screened — licensed, manufacturer-certified, reference-checked.

Editorial standards & independence

How we make money — and how we keep it from bending the numbers

The business model, plainly: GetVRF may earn referral fees when we match you with an installer or distributor, and affiliate commissions on some product links. Lead-gen pays for the free tools and research. You never pay us, and partners never pay more to rank "higher" — matches are made on fit: territory, certifications, project type, and capacity.

  • Numbers before narratives. Calculator constants come from public data (EIA, DOE, program documents, SREC markets) and are versioned in our methodology docs. Partners get zero input into them.
  • We publish the cases against VRF. Our comparison guide lists the scenarios where a rooftop unit wins. If the tool says your project doesn't pencil, that's what it says.
  • Dated & verified. Incentive figures carry a "last verified" date and are re-checked quarterly, or sooner when law changes.
  • Your data. Lead forms collect the minimum needed to make a match; we don't sell contact lists. (Full privacy policy: pre-launch legal task.)

For installers & distributors

Join the vetted partner network

We send you pre-educated, calculator-qualified prospects in your territory — people who arrive already understanding heat recovery, incentive timing, and rough budget. You close; we grow the category together.

  • Qualified, not scraped: every referral ran the calculator or requested a match explicitly — with project size, timeline, and system context attached.
  • Territory-respectful: capped partners per metro so referrals stay meaningful.
  • Standards to keep: licensing, manufacturer VRF certification (Daikin/Mitsubishi/LG/etc.), insurance, and reference checks — annually.

Also of interest: co-branded case studies, sponsored deep-dives (clearly labeled), and distributor education partnerships. Mention it in the form.
